Instructions
Use a humidifier to increase the humidity in dry air, which holds static more readily than humid air. More than one humidifier may be necessary in larger areas such as work spaces.
Wear clothing made of natural fibers such as cotton. Avoid synthetic fabrics such as rayon and polyester, which tend to collect a large static charge.
Use an anti-static hand lotion to moisturize your skin and to avoid static charges on your skin.
Spray carpeting with an anti-static product obtained from carpet suppliers, retail and home- improvement stores or Internet vendors.
Avoid rubbing your hands over conductive objects, especially fabrics and carpeting. In addition, avoid dragging your feet when you walk, especially on carpet.
Use a hairdryer with an ion emitter. Most modern hairdryers include an emitter to reduce static buildup. Check the hairdryer's packaging to see if an ion emitter is included.
