Instructions

    • 1

Put the autoclave on a flat surface to allow the chamber to fill up with water. Put distilled water into the reservoir until the water level is 2 inches from the top. Plug the unit into a grounded power outlet.

    • 2

Place the instruments that you want to sterilize on a tray and place the tray into the autoclave chamber. Turn the switch located at the bottom of the device to the "Fill" position while the door is open. Leave it like this for 50 seconds until the water reaches the chamber's front rim. Make sure the timer is set to 0 or the device will not fill with water. Close the door.

    • 3

Turn the knob located in the middle of the unit to set the sterilization temperature of the autoclave. To set it to the maximum temperature of 270 degrees Fahrenheit, turn the knob all the way clockwise until it can no longer turn.

    • 4

Set the timer for 15 minutes plus the amount of time required to sterilize your particular type of instruments. The sterilization times are: 15 minutes for unwrapped instruments, 20 minutes for lightly wrapped instruments and 25 minutes for heavily wrapped instruments. The timer buzzes for 20 seconds once the device is turned on.

    • 5

Set the switch located at the bottom to "Sterilize" and the lights will come on. The orange light, the red light and the timer will turn off, and the pressure will vent automatically at the end of the cycle. Open the door only when the pressure gauge displays 0.
