Re-think Landfills
One of the shortcomings of the system is in the process of separation that gives out residue, such as bulk items and grit. These bulk items may include some useful materials such as biodegradable plastics that would end up in a landfill whereas these plastics can still be useful to many people in the market. In other words, the identification of materials that can be salvaged in the system is not fully proven.
Improvement of Good Engineering Practices
The ArrowBio Technology uses a variety of steps and machines to finally yield useful reusable materials. However, the number of steps and machines would certainly add up and make the system vulnerable. Hence, the cost of maintaining the reactors and failed machinery needs attention and perhaps design modifications as well.
Problem of Line Blockages
The occurrence of line blockages in such a system has been mentioned in research. Regular preventive maintenance checks and fixing the line blockages as they happen will aid the hindrance, but a superior solution is desirable to make the technology robust. Moreover, training and educating the staff with a backup plan is essential in case of a severe system blockage.
Not There Yet
The ArrowBio Technology is slightly flawed, but it is so far among the world's greenest solutions to municipal solid waste. The waste management method certainly inspires this generation to make an effort to work in and for a healthier, greener environment. Therefore, the use of this technique is recommended, but note that it still needs enhancement and reinforcement.
