How to Calculate Inspiratory Capacity

Lung function can be affected by many disorders. Even in healthy individuals, the different measures of lung function can differ from one individual to the next depending on level of physical fitness, body size, and gender. A spirometer is a device used during pulmonary function testing that measures different volumes of air inhaled or exhaled. Disorders such as asthma and emphysema are frequently assessed with the use of a spirometer.
