Method for Water Evaporation Control With Chemicals

Water evaporation happens when liquid water changes into a gas. This process can be detrimental if maintaining the water in its liquid form is necessary. Examples of when water conservation is necessary are in agricultural uses and to keep concrete from drying too soon. Aquatain and E-Con are two chemicals that can be used to conserve water. Use these two chemicals to control water evaporation by spraying them on the surface of water or wet concrete.

Instructions

    • 1

Apply Aquatain by pouring it from the drum directly onto the water you want to treat. It automatically and quickly spreads across the surface of the water.

    • 2

Apply the Aquatain at a rate of 2 liters per hectare of water once every 10 days. The drums come in 2.5, 20, 110, 200 and 1,000 liter sizes. Apply the product aerially if the amount of water you wish to treat is greater than 20 hectares.

    • 3

Prepare E-Con by shaking the concentrated solution. Mix 1 part of concentrated E-Con product with 10 parts water and shake or mix again until it is blended thoroughly.

    • 4

Apply the E-Con on bull floated concrete using spraying equipment. Bull floated concrete is concrete that has been smoothed flat after it has been filled in or put in place. Apply it as a fine spray and reapply it if the conditions are extremely dry.
