How to Connect Two Button Batteries

A button battery is a highly versatile, compact form of battery cell. It is used in watches, flashlights, calculators and hearing aids, among other devices that require a small, circular power source that lasts for an extended period of time. Button batteries can be stacked together to form additional power for the device.

tube or container

  Obtain two button batteries of the same size with the same voltage.

  Align the batteries with opposite signs facing one another, positive and negative. Place them in a tube or container to hold them in place. The container will preferably match the diameter of the button batteries so they do not slide around.

  Stack the button batteries in a series connection.The power production is additive so your total output will be double. However, your hours will be the same.
- 4
  Attach your device or wires connecting it to one of the button batteries for use.
