Place the egg in the bowl and fill the bowl with vinegar until the egg is completely submerged. Cover the bowl with tin foil and leave it for 48 hours.
Use a spoon to remove the egg from the vinegar. Dump out the vinegar and rinse the bowl. Put the egg back in the bowl. Pour molasses into the bowl until the egg is covered. Replace the tin foil lid and let the egg sit for 24 hours.
Scoop the egg out with a spoon. The molasses will have sucked the water out of the egg and it will be shriveled. Wash the molasses out of the bowl.
Place the egg back in the bowl. Cover it completely with water and let it sit for another 24 hours. The egg will be round and full again. It will feel rubbery when you poke it with your finger. Drop it a few inches above the table and see what happens. Drop it a few inches higher and see what happens. See how high you can drop the bouncy egg before it breaks.
