Cross reference your date of birth with the dates corresponding to the 12 star signs. People with birthdays between January 20th and February 18th are said to be born under the sign of Aquarius. Pisceans are born between February 19th and March 20th, while those born under the sign of Aries have birthdays between March 21st and April 19th. The sign Taurus corresponds to birthdays between April 20th and May 20th, Gemini between May 21st and June 20th, Cancer between June 21st and July 22nd, Leo between July 23rd and August 22nd, Virgo between August 23rd and September 22nd, Libra between September 23rd and October 22nd, Scorpio between October 23rd and November 21st, Sagittarius between November 22nd and December 21st, and Capricorn between December 22nd and January 19th.

Assume a combination of two star signs for birthdays that fall at either the start or the end of any given period, as the exact cut-off points depend on a variety of factors. These dates are said to be on the cusp. So, for example, someone with a birthday on December 21st would assume both the Sagittarius and Capricorn star signs.
