Things You'll Need
Instructions
Draw a circle with the compass and pencil. Measure two 90-degree angles from the center of the circle with the protractor and draw two crossing lines --- one vertical and one horizontal. You should now have an equal armed cross inside the circle.
Locate the line that goes from the center of the circle straight to the right. Open your compass at the center of the circle so that the pencil is just past the middle of the line. Draw a curved mark with the pencil. Flip the compass around to position it at the end of the line and make another curved mark. Draw a line between the points where the curved marks intersect each other going out to the end of the circle.
Move the compass to the middle of this line. Open the compass to the line that is going straight up from the center of the circle. Make a curved mark through the line that goes left from the center of the circle and the line that is going up from the center of the circle.
Move the compass to the point where this curved mark crosses the line that goes left from the center of the circle.Create another curved mark at the middle of the line going up from the center of the circle.
Use the marks you drew in Steps 3 and 4 to replace the "center of the circle" and follow the same procedure you used above to draw two more points of the pentagram on the remaining half of the circle.
Draw the fifth point from the top of the circle and connect it to the bottom right and left points. You should see a star shape within the circle. Erase all of the lines aside from the lines that form the star shape. A pentacle has a circle around the pentagram shape or the star. To draw a pentagram, simply do not erase the circle.
