Directions for an Optimus Prime Level 4 Toy

More than 80 toys have held the name "Optimus Prime" throughout the 25-year-old history of Transformers toys. Hasbro released The "Cybertronian Optimus Prime" figure as part of the "Transformers: Generations" toy line in 2010. This deluxe-class figure embodies the character as he appeared in the video game "Transformers: War for Cybertron." Because this figure represents Optimus Prime as he appeared on his home planet of Cybertron, this toy has the ability to transform from a robot into an alien transport. Hasbro rated the Cybertronian Optimus Prime figure with a level 4, or advanced, transformation difficulty, which indicates that you will need to manipulate several moving pieces precisely to achieve a complete transformation.

Instructions

Transforming Robot to Vehicle

  Rotate the Transformer's fists into its forearms.

  Rotate the back of the robot forward, forming the hood of the vehicle and fold the robot's head into the repositioned hood.

  Fold the tips of each foot inward toward the ankles and lift the midsection of the robot out while rotating the entire torso up.

  Pull out the outer side of each leg and rotate it down, revealing the vehicle's wheels. Flip the wheels down and fold the side of each leg back to its starting position.

  Rotate the midsection of the transformer clockwise, aligning the windshield to the bottom of the robot mode. Reach under the midsection and flip out the pieces that will become the front bumper of the vehicle.

  Straighten each arm and rotate it backward, 90 degrees. Unhinge the waist and lift the entire upper body of the figure up, straightening the hinge.

  Rotate the hood piece of the vehicle 180 degrees clockwise, leaving the rest of the upper torso in place. Bend the legs at the knees by 90 degrees and slide the knee joint to the middle of the lower leg assembly.

  Fold the waist hinge of the robot down, lowering the top of the robot's torso by 45 degrees. Rotate the shoulder joints up by 90 degrees, revealing the vehicle's front wheels and flip the wheels out. Fold the forearms down by 45 degrees and flip the waist hinge completely down.

  Slide the hood of the vehicle up and rotate the smokestacks back by 45 degrees. Rotate the side panels located below the smokestacks down and the panels located above the front wheels up. Firmly snap the hood piece into place. When the hood is secure, rotate the top of the hood up and back.

  Examine the vehicle for any loosely fitting pieces and firmly snap them into place. Check each joint surrounding a loosely fitting piece to ensure that it is correctly positioned. Fold the robot's weapon in half at the joint and peg it into the hole between the two smokestacks.
