How to Make a LEGO Greek Warrior

An ancient Greek warrior, or "hoplite," was traditionally armed with a bronze breastplate and helmet, a round metal shield, a long spear, and a short sword. These warriors fought in a tight formation known as a phalanx. Each ancient Greek city-state, such as Athens or Sparta, had its own force of hoplites. The Danish company LEGO, founded in 1932, produces a Spartan warrior plastic model as part of the 8684 Minifigures Series 2, which comes with all of the parts necessary to build a Greek warrior.

Instructions

    • 1

Acquire a Spartan warrior model from the LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 line. You can buy this at an officially licensed LEGO store, online or from a secondhand source.

    • 2

Assemble the pieces you'll need to make your LEGO Greek warrior. This includes three body parts: a torso, a pair of legs and a head. You will also need the warrior's arms and equipment, including a helmet, cloak, spear and round shield.

    • 3

Attach the legs onto the torso by inserting the knobs on the top of the legs into the slots at the base of the torso.

    • 4

Slide the cloak into place over the shoulders of the torso on the Greek warrior model. Then attach the head onto the short rod or "neck" of the torso.

    • 5

Fasten the bronze helmet onto the head of the model. This should literally "click" into place.

    • 6

Arm your LEGO Greek warrior with his spear and shield. The spear should go in his right hand, and the shield should go in his left. Both of these parts should also click into place when inserted correctly.
