How to Remove a Cy-Girls Ankle Replacement

Sorry, G.I. Joe, but the day of your "kung-fu" grip has come and gone. Most action figures today have over a dozen points of articulation that allow kids and collectors to pose them into realistic positions. Takara Tomy's Cy-Girls, or "Cool Girls" in their native Japan, have gained popularity due to their varied and anatomically correct articulation. Cy-Girls parts can be replaced and knowing how to remove replacement parts, such as an ankle, can aid in the Cy-Girl repair or modification process.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove all the clothes and accessories from the bottom half of the Cy-Girls action figure.

    • 2

Hold the leg of the action figure with the replacement ankle with one hand and pull the foot from its ball-and-socket joint.

    • 3

Hold the same leg of the action figure and insert one side of the jaws of a needle-nose pliers into the socket of the ankle.

    • 4

Close the jaws of the needle-nose pliers and pull the ankle slowly and firmly to remove it from the leg. If the ankle does not come free, move it gently from side to side as you pull.
