Ideas for a Bionicle Building

Manufactured by LEGO, the maker of those famous multi-colored interlocking blocks, BIONICLE figures are action figures that children can snap together in a variety of different shapes and configurations. But the figures themselves are just the start of the BIONICLE world. Children need just a bit of creativity to create an entire universe of BIONICLE hideouts, headquarters and bases.
  1. An Evil Lair

    • Action figure sets are only as good as their villains. Fortunately, the BIONICLE universe is filled with evil warlords, wizards, monsters and wild beasts. Children can while away the hours in a day by building lairs for these villains.

If your children own bins full of LEGO blocks--which many BIONICLE owners do--they can build a wide assortment of caves, castles, laboratories and sinister bases for their more villainous BIONICLE figures. They can even equip these hideouts with LEGO-built computers, jails, weapons and traps. Best of all, children won't need to follow any instructions to build these lairs; they can create whatever type of hideout that their imagination conjures.

    The BIONICLE Base

    • The BIONICLE universe has its share of heroes, too. In fact, these heroes are the stars of the collection. It makes sense, then, that your children will want to craft a base for these heroic figures.

Again, your children can fashion this base out of their other LEGO bricks. However, they don't have to limit themselves. They can craft a heroic headquarters out of cardboard paper towel tubes that they've painted white, gold or silver. They can past construction paper on old shoe boxes or sprinkle them with glitter while creating a multi-leveled BIONICLE meeting hall.

Again, the possibilities are endless, and instructions are not required. Creativity and imagination are all that children need.

    Villages

    • An entire cast of side characters populate the world of BIONICLE, everything from villagers to elders to tame beasts and savage monsters. Enterprising children, then, can create entire villages for their BIONICLE adventures, filled with medical huts, shops, homes, weapons supply stores and any other building that they can imagine.

Children may opt to build these structures out of anything from spray-painted Popsicle sticks to empty soda cans to colored paper drinking cups. You might be surprised at how much of the day your young BIONICLE fans can spend creating an entire world of buildings for their action figures.
