Collect the WWE Classic Superstar series. This series began in 2004 and is one of the most sought and collected WWE action figure series to date. The Classic Superstar series has over 12 different sets of WWE icons and legends, including Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and Triple H. These are some of the most detailed figures as well, including authentic costumes, accessories and facial expressions.
Stick to classic figures released throughout the history of the WWE. These figures started as big rubber wrestlers from LJN and evolved into smaller plastic figures from Hasbro and eventually converted to the Jakks Pacific Company that still releases them today. The best place to find these figures is on auction websites like eBay, from toy collectors, or by browsing through flea markets and yard sales.
Choose how you want to display your figures. Many collectors keep figures in their cases for two reasons: to keep resale value high and as a way of showing off the collection. You can display them in clear action figure cases or set them up in a toy wrestling ring or glass display case.
Customize your figures. Collectors often use professional action figure paint and accessories to customize figures. They make costume changes to match actual costumes or fix cosmetic factory errors that may have occurred. Some collectors even customize figures to change them into other wrestlers.
Visit toy conventions to purchase rare WWE action figures that are not usually available to the public. One of the best places to purchase rare figures is the Ringside Fest in New York City. Along with meeting real WWE wrestlers, the Ringside Fest (see Resources) is also host to exclusive action figures from the Jakks Classic Superstar series.
Check action figure websites, such as WrestlingFIGS.com, to trade and purchase figures from other collectors (see Resources). Collectors take proper care of the figures so you know you are getting a solid product.
