Instructions
Create a picture in your mind of what you want your cartoon monkey to look like. Long? Short? Fat? Skinny? Funny? Scary? Keep in mind that this is a cartoon and can be any shape and size you desire.
Draw an ellipse (long circle) in the middle of your page. The shape will serve as the body of the monkey. Be sure to leave some space at the top, bottom and sides of the page for the head, arms and legs.
Create the head of your monkey by drawing two more circles on top of the body. These circles create the mouth area and the eye area.
Complete the head of your monkey by drawing two circles. These circles will serve as the ears and facial features. Is your monkey happy? Sad? Angry? Goofy? By using different facial features you can make your monkey as expressive as you want.
Add arms, legs and a tail to your monkey by connecting long rectangles in appropriate areas. Use rectangles to create the hands, fingers, feet and toes. Once you have the desired shape just smooth out the lines and erase any extra lines left from the rectangles.
Add the details to your cartoon monkey. This is where you give your monkey it's personality. Draw the eyes, nose and mouth to complete your drawing.
