How to Select Static Shock Action Figures

Static Shock is a character developed by DC/Milestone for the now-defunct WB network. The show ran for four seasons, from 2000 to 2004, although reruns are occasionally shown on Cartoon Network. The popularity of the Static Shock character came as a pleasant surprise to both DC and head creator Dwayne McDuffie, who has been widely praised for his development of a strong, African-American superhero. While Static Shock remains a beloved DC character, merchandising for the show is extremely limited.

Instructions

  1. Select Static Shock Action Figures

    • 1

Understand there have been no official releases of Static Shock action figures, nor are there any plans to do so in the future. When the show ended its run in 2004, there was talk of a fifth season being developed, as long as an action figure line was created in the process. However, both deals fell through.

Search for the limited number of Static Shock toys that were made available through Subway restaurants in 2004. Four different figurines were made for this promotion, which was offered throughout the country. These pieces are very rare, however, and nearly impossible to find.

Keep an eye on the official Static Shock Web site (see Resources below) for up-to-date information about potential action figure releases. While you're waiting for news, you can browse the site to learn more about Static Shock and enjoy a few interactive games.

Pick up a few DVDs to satisfy your craving for Static Shock memorabilia. You can select the official series DVDs, or you can search for the "Justice League Unlimited" series, which features Static Shock for a short time. Static Shock also appears in a select number of regular Justice League episodes.

Write to DC/Milestone, the creators of Static Shock to let your voice be heard. Let the heads of these companies know you're interested in seeing a Static Shock action figure line. You can find contact information on the DC Comics and Dwayne McDuffie Web sites (see Resources below).
