Any ride that involves a drop will attract thrill seekers, because the danger of free-falling brings a definite adrenalin boost. However, putting together a homemade drop ride is a lot different than designing one for an amusement park. Not only is your homeowner's insurance company going to be a lot less forgiving than a company that underwrites coverage for licensed amusement parks, but the average homeowner's lack of experience in designing safe amusements means that you need to be extremely careful if you decide that a ride like this is for you.

Make three stacks of the mattresses: six in one stack, three in a stack next to it, and six in the stack next to that.

Station a person at the far end of the shorter mattress. Allow your jumpers to climb the ladder. From the highest safe step, have them turn around and jump onto the short stack. The taller stacks are designed to bounce them back towards the middle, if they jump at an angle.
