Things You'll Need
Instructions
Find an old mirror frame. Long, full-body frames work best. Remove the existing mirror from the frame.
Measure the length and width of the mirror frame using a tape measure. Measure the area inside of the frame, where the mirror normally sits.
Cut the width of the mylar to the dimension that you got from the mirror frame.
Cut the length of the mylar longer than the measurement you got from the mirror frame. The longer length creates the curve in the mirror, and achieves the image illusions. One or 2 inches longer is a good start. Experiment with different lengths for the best effect.
Cut a large sheet of cardboard to match the dimensions of your mylar. This provides strength and support behind the mylar when installed in the mirror frame.
Attach the mirrored mylar to the cardboard with double sided tape. Insert the cardboard and mirrored mylar into the mirror frame.
Push the center of the mirrored mylar and cardboard so that it curves inward or outward, depending on your personal preference. Concave (or inward curves) will create a short, wide reflection. Convex (or outward curves) will create a tall, thin reflection.
