Your Child's Favorite Character
Decorate a playhouse using your child's favorite characters from a movie, television show or novel. Put up posters displaying the characters or story, or cut out items from a magazine. Include everyday objects or toys that are reminiscent of the character or the story.
Inspired by a Family Vacation
Use photos or items that you collected while on a family vacation to decorate a playhouse. For example, you can recreate a day at the beach using shells your child collected or a souvenir from the trip. In addition, blow up a favorite photograph and place it on a wall or the ceiling of the playhouse.
Drawings by Friends and Family
Hang up your child's drawings inside the playhouse. In addition, your child can ask some friends or other family members to create a drawing that your child can display inside the playhouse. The drawings will add color to the playhouse and remind the child of people who mean a lot to her.
Develop a Theme Based on What Your Child Loves Most
If your child loves dogs, you could decorate the playhouse with photos and stuffed animals of dogs. In contrast, if your child loves a certain place or country, you could try to recreate the theme of the country by decorating the playhouse. If your child doesn't want to choose a theme, just decorate the playhouse with her favorite toys and belongings.
