Determine the size of the hoop, based on your height. Ideally, the diameter of the hoop should be from the ground to the area between your navel and shoulders, depending on your size preference. Taller hoops spin more slowly, making them easier for beginners to control.
Unroll the PVC tubing and fold it into a hoop. Hold it against your body to check the diameter before cutting the end to the desired length. If you are using a hacksaw to cut the PVC, wear protective gloves and be careful not to scratch the floor.
Heat the cut ends of the hoop with a hair dryer to make them pliable. Slide the connector into one end of the tube, then press the ends together firmly to form the hoop. Wrap the seam in duct tape to secure the connection.
