Things You'll Need
Instructions
Sand the entire boat with fine-grit sandpaper. Remember to sand the handles, seat and bottom, as well. Avoid any metal or other nonplastic accents.
Cover any nonplastic areas with painter's tape. Prime the boat with an acrylic primer. Paint the primer evenly onto all of the plastic surfaces with a paintbrush.
Let the primer dry completely, at least 12 hours. Fill the reservoir of a paint sprayer with acrylic enamel paint in your chosen color. Apply one thin coat of paint to the boat, moving the head of the sprayer in back-and-forth lines.
Wait two to three hours. Spray on a second coat of paint, slightly thicker this time; do not over-spray or the paint will puddle and drip. Let the boat dry 24 to 48 hours and remove any painter's tape before allowing children to ride it.
