How to Replace the Battery in a Schwinn Stealth 1000

The Schwinn Stealth 1000 is a motorized electric scooter that features a full-size frame with a 260-pound carrying capacity and a full-size deck. The Schwinn Stealth 1000 is powered by three 12-volt lead batteries that are contained in a sealed battery pack. The battery pack is then stored inside the seat compartment of the scooter. Replacing the batteries requires you to order a replacement battery pack from Schwinn prior to installation.

  Remove the top of the seat by popping the lid out from the interior of the seat at the edges.

  Locate the battery inside the seat compartment. It will be on the side of the seat closest to the handlebars. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery by pulling it out of its connection compartment, then disconnect the positive wire in the same manner.

  Remove the old battery by gently pulling it out of its compartment.

  Place the new battery inside the compartment. Attach the negative wire on the bike to the negative wire input on the battery by pushing it inside the input compartment. Attach the positive wire to the battery's input in the same way. Replace the lid on the seat.
