How to Make a Super Sized Bubble String

In 2006, "Sam Sam the Bubble Man" set a world record when he encased 19 kids in a single bubble. Blowing bubbles and mastering bubble technique is a popular, affordable pastime that children and adults have enjoyed for generations. While the small bubble wands that come submerged in a bottle of store-bought bubble solution will create small bubbles, making huge, super-sized bubbles is even more fun. Crafting a stringed bubble wand to make big bubbles is a fun and easy project that children can make with a little help from an adult.

    • 1

Slather glue over eight inches of the end of a dowel.

    • 2

Wrap the glue-covered end of the dowel with yarn directly from the skein. Cut the yarn from the skein when you reach the end of the glue line and secure the loose end with the glue.

    • 3

Slather glue over eight inches of the end of the second dowel.

    • 4

Wrap the glue-covered end of the second dowel with yarn directly from the skein. Cut the yarn from the skein when you reach the end of the glue line and secure the loose end with the glue.

    • 5

Measure and cut 36 inches of yarn from the skein.

    • 6

Tie one end of the this length of yarn to the tip of the yarn-covered end of a dowel.

    • 7

Tie the other end of the yarn to the tip of the other yarn-covered dowel end.

    • 8

Measure and cut a 48-inch length of yarn.

    • 9

Tie one end of this length of yarn to the tip of one dowel just below where the 36-inch length of yarn was tied.

    • 10

Tie the other end of yarn to the tip of the other dowel just below where the 36-inch length of yarn was tied.

    Make the Super-Sized Bubbles

Hold the wooden ends of the dowel in each hand. They should be close together.

    • 12

Immerse the yarn into a bucket containing bubble solution.

    • 13
