How to Make a Sticky Ball Toss Game

Most kids enjoy playing ball toss games. Sticky balls adhere to the glove or paddle so it's almost impossible to drop it, and even young or uncoordinated children can play this tossing game. Making your own sticky ball toss game is a simple process that older children can help with. Sticky balls are fun for everyone.

Things You'll Need

  • 1/2 yard fleece
  • Velcro (hook side only)
  • Plastic ball (lightweight -- like from a ball pit)
  • Scissors
  • Marker
  • Sewing machine
  • Super glue

Instructions

    • 1

Fold the fleece in half. Lay your hand down on the fleece and trace about 1 inch around your hand. You can choose to trace the individual fingers or create a mitten.

    • 2

Cut out the hand shape you drew, ensuring that you have two pieces of fabric.

    • 3

Sew around the edges of the hand shape to create a fleece glove or mitten. Repeat this process to create as many gloves as there are players.

    • 4

Wash and dry a lightweight plastic ball to remove dirt.

    • 5

Cut the Velcro into 1/4-inch wide strips. Remember to use only the hooked side of the Velcro, as this will catch on the fleece mitts.

    • 6

Super glue the Velcro strips around the ball in a crisscross pattern. Three or four strips should provide sufficient stickiness for most balls. If you are using pre-glued Velcro, simply remove the paper backing and stick the strips to the ball.
