How to Cook Pork So it Is Soft

Pork, a white meat, can become tough and dry if it isn't cooked properly. This sometimes happens when the pork meat is overcooked or is improperly handled before, during and after preparation. Knowing how to make pork tender and flavorful as opposed to dried out and hard to chew isn't a very difficult endeavor. Whether you're making chops, ribs or roast, making tender pork recipes will result in your family greatly enjoying this meat.

Instructions

  1. Pork Roast

    • 1

Rub the pork roast with your choice of seasonings. For example, a rub of salt, pepper and lemon garlic powder gives the roast a tasty flavor. The salt also serves as a way to seal in the moisture, which aides in keeping it tender.

    • 2

Place the rubbed pork roast into the roasting pan. Cover the pan.

    • 3

Bake the roast at 350 degrees for roughly an hour per pound.

    Chops

    • 4

Season the chops without using salt. Use salt-free herb rub or another alternative. Using salt prior to frying a meat aides in drying it out.

    • 5

Spray nonstick cooking spray on the surface of a frying pan. Put it on the stove and set the heat to a medium-high, or 350 degrees on a digital stove. Give it 5 minutes to heat up adequately.

    • 6

Put the pork chop into the skillet, and let it sizzle for 5 minutes on one side. Turn it over and repeat. If the pork chop or steak is thicker than 1 inch, let it cook for 7 minutes on each side, or until the juice that runs from it is clear-yellow instead of pink or red.
