Toddler
The toddler climbing frames are usually smaller and made of plastic. They are easy to put together and take apart and feature a variety of colors, such as blue, red, green and yellow. The frames usually feature two or three steps leading up to a form of house. The house has a small slide coming out of it. The frames also have walls with climbing holes. These frames are entertaining for either boys or girls, but the children will outgrow them rather quickly.
Boys
You can get a climbing frame that specifically has boys in mind -- a pirate ship. You will no longer have to clean up the mess that was made from transforming your couch into a pirate ship if he has his own pirate ship in your backyard. If being a bold knight or ruling a kingdom is more his fancy, you can get him a climbing frame that looks like a castle.
Girls
Most little girls enjoy playing house. A variety of climbing frames are available that resemble houses. Some of them are elaborate, with two stories and fake flower pots on the window sills. A pink castle climbing frame would help her live her princess dream. She can have tea with her friends in the tower of the climbing frame. If you are handy, you can even fashion a yellow rope from the window of the castle tower and make it look like Rapunzel's golden hair.
Large
The larger frames are for older children and work for both girls and boys. Most of them are made of wood. These frames have many features that will give the kids plenty of exercise. The best part is that you can customize to fit your or your child's needs. Some features can be taken off while other features can be added. Some features include swings, ropes, nets and additional slides.
