How to Repair a Bonzai Water Slide

Bonzai Water Slides are an economical way to have a water slide at home. Instead of renting a water slide, pay only once for a Bonzai inflatable slide, and the kids can splash and slide all summer long. Like any vinyl inflatable toy, the Bonzai slide is not indestructible, and it can be torn or punctured. It is important to keep repair supplies on hand. Small repairs are simple to perform and the kids will be sliding again in no time.

Instructions

    • 1

Scrub the Bonzai slide with a mild detergent -- and look for the bubbles -- to locate small tears or puncture holes in the vinyl. Mark holes with a pen. Rinse off the slide with water and allow it to dry completely.

    • 2

Use a rag to clean the area to be repaired with MEK. This will prepare the fabric to bond with the glue. Wait five minutes. Repeat two more times.

    • 3

Unscrew and clean the valve. Replace the O-rings if necessary, to prevent slow air leaks.

    • 4

Cut vinyl patches one to two inches larger than the tear or hole. Round off the corners with scissors.

    • 5

Apply the glue with a stiff brush to the fabric. Wait five minutes, or until the glue appears dry. Repeat two more times. Wait five more minutes and then lay the patch over the tear or hole. Smooth out all air bubbles.

    • 6

Let the slide dry for 48 hours before using. The glue bond fully strengthens in seven days.
