Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut lumber into three 20" pieces, two 9 1/4" pieces, one 7" piece.
Identify each slide section by the number marked on the lip of each piece.
Assemble the "Entrance" section (A) using pieces #1 , and two "90 Degree" sections (B) using pieces #3 . Also assemble the "Exit" section (C) using pieces #3 .
Attach using a 5/16" x 3/4" hex head bolt, two 5/16" flat washers and a 5/16" lock nut at each hole junction. Refer to illustration figures 1 &2.
Attach the mounting plate to section (A) through the holes indicated as shown in figure #3 using four 5/16" x 1" hex head bolts, eight 5/16" flat washers and four 5/16" lock nuts as illustrated in figure #4.
Position a "90 Degree" section (B) to the "Entrance" section (A), rotating the "90 Degree" section two holes from the previous seam as shown in figures #5 .
Secure using a 5/16" x 3/4" hex bolt, two 5/16" washers, and a 5/16" lock nut at each hole junction.
Add remaining sections (B) &(C) to assembly rotating each of the sections two holes from the previous seam as illustrated in figures #7 .
Mount the slide-runoff (6) to the assembly using one 5/16" x 3/4" hex head bolt, two 5/16" washers and one 5/16" lock nut at each of the hole junctions as before illustrated in figure #9.
Note: When assembled properly, the last hole of the "Exit" section (C) will be exposed as shown in figure
.
Tighten all nuts completely. With the help of at least two adults, position the Turbo Tube slide to the appropriate opening of the activity center. Mark all hole locations using the mounting plate as a guide. Drill two 3/8" holes through the top of the frame as shown in figureand drill 1/8" pilot holes 1 inch deep at the remaining marked locations.
Attach slide to the climbing unit by securing mounting plate corners using a 5/16" x 2 1/2" lag bolt, and 5/16" washer; using two 5/16" x 2 1/2" hex head bolts, four 5/16" washers, and two 5/16" lock nuts secure the slide through the top two holes drilled all the way through the frame.
Note: The bolt heads should be inside the unit.
Secure slide through the remaining eight holes using a 5/16" x 1 1/2 lag bolt and washer as shown in figure.
Note: Bolt heads should be on the outside of the unit.
Dig a hole 3" deep beneath the slide runoff area. Place the slide bracket between the slide and the activity center referring to figure
. Remove appropriate bolts from slide, attach bracket as shown in figure
and re-secure the hardware.
Move slide toward activity center, if necessary, until the bracket makes contact with the unit. Mark and drill 1/8" pilot holes 1 inch deep, using the holes in the bracket as a guide. Attach bracket to the unit by using 5/16" x 1-1/2" lag bolts as shown in figure
.
Construct a slide support using three 2" x 4" x 20", two 2" x 4" x 9-1/4" and one 2" x 4" x 7" boards as shown in figure. Join boards using 10D galvanized nails.
Attach the support bracket to slide support built in step
using two 5/16 x 1-1/2" lag bolts.
Place the support beneath the slide, and determine its final position. The slide support should fit tightly beneath slide to ensure proper support. Remove corresponding nut and bolt, and attach support to the slide as illustrated in figure. Re-secure hardware. Level grade around the base of the slide.
