How to Build a Marshmallow Gun

Marshmallow guns are plastic homemade toys that can shoot a marshmallow up to 40 feet by simply blowing a puff of air into a mouthpiece. With a few inexpensive items from the hardware store you can build a marshmallow shooter at home and enjoy hours of fun right in your own backyard. Your marshmallow gun can be painted or decorated and since the PVC pieces connect like Legos they can be taken apart and modified by using longer or shorter pieces.

Things You'll Need

1 PVC pipe, 12 inches long, 1/2 inch diameter
1 PVC end cap, 1/2 inch diameter
1 PVC 3-way connection, 1/2 inch diameter
2 PVC elbows, 1/2 inch
Hacksaw
Safety goggles
1 bag miniature marshmallows

Instructions

  Using your hacksaw, cut the 12 inch PVC pipe into 5 pieces: 2 pieces 3-inches long each and 3 pieces 2-inches long each.

  Place an elbow on the end of a 2-inch piece so the open end of the elbow is facing down to form a mouthpiece. On the open end of the elbow attach a 2 inch piece, then another elbow to the bottom of that. This elbow will face the opposite direction and away from you when you place the mouthpiece in your mouth.

  Connect a 3-inch piece to the open end of the elbow then add the 3-way connector so that it looks like the letter "T." On the bottom of the "T" place an end cap and this will be your handle.

  Put a 3-inch piece on the open end of the 3-way connector to form a barrel.

  Drop a miniature marshmallow into the mouthpiece, then blow to shoot the marshmallow out of the barrel.
