How to Make Balls With Light Sticks & Connectors

Light sticks, or glow sticks, are great fun for all ages at parties, picnics, music festivals and more. These glowing sticks come in many forms. The most common is the bracelet size, which is a simple 8-inch stick with a connector to create a bracelet. Several sticks can be connected to create longer sticks, or you can get creative with different shapes. If a special "ball" connector is available, you can make a glowing, spinning ball.

Instructions

    • 1

Bend the light sticks until you hear a cracking sound and the sticks begin to glow.

    • 2

Insert the end of one stick into a hole in one of the glow ball connectors.

    • 3

Repeat with another stick into the next hole of the same connector. Repeat with all the remaining sticks until you fill the connector. You should have one unused stick.

    • 4

Take the free end of one of the sticks in the first connector, and insert it into the second ball connector. The stick will bend slightly in an arc.

    • 5

Repeat with the remaining sticks, one after another, in order. When complete, you will have a circular shape.

    • 6

Insert the remaining light stick into the hole in the middle of one ball connector, through the ball and out of the hole in the other connector. Use this center stick to spin the ball on its axis.
