How to Buy a Trampoline for My Kids

A trampoline can provide hours of fun for your kids and for yourself. With an outdoor trampoline you will be encouraging your kids to play outside. The ideal trampoline for your kids will depend on the available space for the trampoline. Safety should come first when buying a trampoline and when using one.

  Pick the shape of the trampoline you would like to buy for your kids. Trampolines come in four different shapes: round, octagonal, rectangular and square. Round trampolines are designed to keep the jumper in the middle of the trampoline. Octagonal trampolines allow for a larger jumping area and will not push the jumper to the middle of the trampoline. Rectangular trampolines have more flexible springs when compared to the other three shapes, which allows for higher jumps. Square trampolines also have flexible springs, but the jumper will not be able to jump as high as with a rectangular trampoline.

  Decide on the size of the trampoline for your kids. The size of a trampoline varies from six-foot diameter trampolines all the way up to 17-foot diameter trampolines. You must take into consideration the location in which the trampoline will be placed. You must have at least a 24-foot overhead clearance and two feet clearance all around the trampoline to help prevent injuries.

  Buy a trampoline according to the shape and size you want. Search stores near you to see if they have the trampoline you would like to buy. If not, search online and buy from a creditable website.

  Buy a mesh ring. Since the trampoline will be for kids, a mesh ring will provide extra protection. The mesh ring will wrap around the trampoline and prevent your kids from falling off.
