How to Make a Water Sling Shot

Water balloon fights are a staple of summer camp fun, and making a water balloon sling shot is an easy and affordable way to stay cool this summer. All you need are a few cheap items and a drill. Have fun making water sling shots at summer birthday parties, at camp, or at home on a hot day. Be sure that such sling shots are used for water balloons only. Using these sling shots for other purposes can result in injury.

Instructions

    • 1

Drill four holes in the funnel, two on each side. The holes should be wider than the tubing and the funnel should be able to hold a good-sized water balloon.

    • 2
      Rubber tubing

Cut the tubing and make two 8-10 foot sections. Take the funnel and thread the tubing through the one side of the funnel. Thread the other section of tubing through the two holes on the opposite side of the funnel. The ends of each section of tubing should be on the outside of the funnel.

    • 3
      Washers

Thread the rope through one of the washers and drop it into the funnel. The washer should catch at the bottom of the funnel and both ends of rope should come through the bottom. Thread the second washer through the rope at the bottom of the funnel, allowing it to move up to the end piece of the funnel, and tie the rope in a knot.

      Water Balloons

Fill as many water balloons as you wish. Get some friends together to hold each side of the tubing, place a balloon in the funnel, and launch balloon. You now have your very own water sling shot.
