Blow Up Yard Games

Summertime brings all kinds of outdoor adventures. Blow up yard games provide an opportunity for those adventures to take place right outside your back door. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes with multiple types of uses, but all of them can add a little magic to your summer experience.
  1. Water Games

    • One type of blow up yard game is a blow up water game. These inflatable toys come in the shape of pools, slides and bouncy platforms. Usually, all you have to do is hook up the hose to a sprinkling device included in the game, or fill it up if it is a pool. These blow up yard games are great for hot summer days, and provide your kids with hours of entertainment. Some are as cheap as $30, while the more ornate types of blow up water games can top $500 in price. These also require close child supervision, as any amount of standing water can pose a drowning hazard.

    Bouncy Pits

    • These blow up yard games are the most traditional of the inflatable yard games. They usually involved a large, inflatable surface, sometimes surrounded by inflatable walls and sometimes by nets held up by inflatable posts. The games' appeal stems from the ability of kids to just jump in and jump around. It's a favorite among parents for its capacity to tire out the kids. Some of them are relatively small and intended for younger children, while some models are built to the scale of a castle and can accommodate older children as well. These do require parental supervision, though, as kids can jump out of the bouncy pit and hurt themselves. Moreover, parents must be careful about limiting the amount of children allowed in these blow up yard games, as an overload of kids can lead to dangerous deflation, tipping or collisions.

    Inflatable Ball Games

    • Perhaps the cheapest of the blow up yard games, inflatable ball games provide good safe fun for the whole family. Nearly every type of outdoor ball game can be purchased on an inflatable scale, from baseball to soccer to volleyball. These games are particularly good for younger children whose levels of coordination may cause them to get hurt by a traditional ball. They also work well for kids playing in the pool, as the inflatable balls will float better in the water. You can even purchase inflatable accessories like bats and rackets for further play.
