How to Make Homemade Bubble Solution

Whether you're 5 or 50, blowing bubbles is just plain fun. You don't need to purchase ready-made bubble solution, though, to enjoy making beautiful bubbles. Keep a little bottle of glycerin in the cupboard and you'll always be just moments away from beautiful bubbles. You can usually find safe glycerin in the laxative section of a pharmacy or grocery store. Mix smaller batches of bubble solution to refill small bottles or try this bigger recipe in a bucket and experiment with ways to make bigger, better bubbles.

Instructions

    • 1

Pour 1 gallon of water into a large container, such as a bucket.

    • 2

Add 2/3 cup of plain dish soap and 3 tablespoons of glycerin. With a long-handled spoon, gently stir the mixture until the ingredients are well blended. Try to avoid creating foam since the bubbles will not form as well.

    • 3

Transfer the mixture into smaller bottles or a shallow dish such as a pie plate. A turkey baster or a cup and a funnel make it easier to fill small containers.
