How to Do Trampoline Tricks

Trampoline jumping is fun for everyone. It's a healthy fitness activity that you can enhance by learning different kinds of jumps and tricks. Before doing any tricks, jump on the trampoline for a few minutes to warm up. Practice some of these basic tricks before moving on to more advanced tricks like flips and twists.

      Perform a tuck jump by lifting your knees to your chest as you jump straight up. Touch your knees with your hands and straighten your legs out as you go back down.

      Increase your flexibility by doing a pike jump. Jump straight up and kick your legs out in front of you so that they are horizontal to the trampoline. Bring your chest down toward your legs. Your entire body should be horizontal to the trampoline at the height of your jump. Return your body to a vertical position to land.

      Jump up while bringing your legs out as far as you can to the sides. This is called a straddle jump. Practice doing the splits helps you with your form in doing a straddle jump. Bring your arms out to the sides and touch your toes if you can.

      Drop down to your bottom after jumping up high into the air. Your legs go out in front of you. As you hit the trampoline, bounce back up and land on your feet. Use your arms for momentum when bouncing back up from a seated position. This trampoline trick is called a seat drop.

      Do a knee drop by jumping up high and bouncing onto your knees. Keep your legs together with your knees and shoulders in line. Your back needs to stay straight during this jump. Use the momentum of your bounce to return to a standing jump.
