Things You'll Need
Instructions
Take various photos of your Barbie using a digital camera. For professional quality photos, place the Barbie in front of a white backdrop, such as a sheet, and use a tripod to avoid blurring. As well, make sure sufficient light is on the item so that it can be seen clearly without casting shadows or creating reflections. It is best not to use a flash as this can wash out your product and create an artificial appearance. Photos are extremely important for online buyers, so take many at various angles and distances. Also, take close-up pictures of specific parts of the Barbie, such as her accessories and the box she came in. It is also helpful to show the scale of the Barbie. To do this, place a coin or ruler beside the doll and take a straight-on photo. Finally, set the resolution on your camera to its highest setting. This will allow you to post larger photos online and allow potential customers to zoom-in on the photo without seeing a grainy image.
Upload the photos to your computer. You can do this by inserting your camera's memory card into your computer (if you have the appropriate port for this) or you can use the cords that came with your camera to connect it to your computer.
Write a description of your Barbie. Be sure to state when you got it, what year it was made, what condition it is in, if it has been played with or kept as a collector's item, if it is still in its original box and how much you are selling it for.
Register for an account with various websites that enable users to sell their items online. Examples include Amazon, eBay and Craigslist.
Create an ad on each website you registered with by following their specific instructions. Be sure to upload many photos, post your description of the item and list your contact information, such as your name, email address and phone number.
