Barbie Easy Bake Oven Directions

Since 1963, roughly 40 million children have enjoyed baking goodies in their very own, child-sized, ovens that bake goodies by heating the cooking chamber with a standard 100-watt light bulb, reports The Cooking Inn website. Little girls and boys have long enjoyed cooking side by side in the kitchen with their parents. While parents prepare dinner, children can prepare dessert with minimal parental involvement as there is little chance of getting hurt when using the child-sized oven. For the ultimate girly-girl, there is the "Barbie Bake With Me Oven," which is similar to its predecessor, "The Easy Bake Oven."

Instructions

    • 1

Install a standard, 100-watt light bulb into the back of the oven. You will need a screwdriver to access the bulb chamber. This is a built in safety feature so that children may not touch the bulb.

    • 2

Plug in the oven 15 minutes prior to cooking to allow it to heat up properly. If the oven is not fully preheated, the food will not cook properly in the allotted time in the cooking chamber.

    • 3

Mix batter in the mixing bowl that came with the oven. Mixes require only water to be added. Please note that there are many recipes to use instead of always relying on pricey, pre-packaged mixes.

    • 4

Transfer the contents of the mixing bowl to one of the provided baking pans, using the provided spatula.

    • 5

Insert the pan into the cooking chamber using the long pan-pusher that came with the oven and allow to bake for the allotted time on the mix or recipe.

    • 6

Remove pan from the cooking chamber with the pan-pusher and allow it to cool on top of the oven for a full 15 minutes or until completely cooled.

    • 7

Unplug the oven and allow the light bulb to cool completely before storing the oven.
