How to Organize Barbie Dolls

According to Barbie Collector, Mattel's official Barbie website, Barbie dolls were created in 1959. The World Records Academy website states the largest collection of Barbie dolls owned by one person is 6,025 and is worth 100,000 British pounds. Most little girls will never own that many dolls, but the amounts of clothes, shoes and accessories can seem vast when scattered over their rooms. Barbie dolls can easily be organized to keep them safe from pets and heavy shoes and ready for another day of play.

Instructions

    • 1

Organize small items like shoes and hair accessories in a plastic craft organizer with small compartments. If your little girl wishes, you can even find organizers with containers small enough to hold one pair of shoes each.

    • 2

Place a shoe holder with plastic compartments on the back of your child's closet door. Individual dolls can be placed inside each shoe holder and easily found when wanted. When playtime is over, the door can be closed and toys out of sight.

    • 3

Keep Barbie clothing in plastic containers with drawers. Clothes do best when they are laid flat, stacked together. Certain items that are brightly colored and might "bleed" over time should be kept in individual plastic bags so they will not damage other clothes.

    • 4

Recycle those old makeup organizer cases and use them as Barbie storage. Be sure to clean out any make-up residue with soap and water. Small items can be stored in the top compartments, while the dolls themselves can reside in the larger lower areas.

    • 5

Wrap more valuable Barbies in acid-free tissue paper and store in cardboard boxes, such as shoe boxes. According to Collect Dolls, valuable Barbies should never be stored in plastic containers because of potential moisture damage.
