Things You'll Need
Instructions
Purchase your materials from an arts and crafts store or convenience store. Any brand of acrylic paint will work, so long as it says ̶0;Artist Grade̶1; on the label. Choose the sealant you want to use; remember that a matte sealant will provide a flat finish to paint, while a gloss sealant will make the finish shiny.
Soak the tip of a cotton swab in non-acetone nail polish remover. Rub the remover over Barbie's face to remove the old paint. This may take multiple cotton swabs; continue to rub until the old paint is removed.
Paint Barbie's features back onto her face. Smaller brushes will be better for detail work, though you will want to use the paintbrush size with which you are most comfortable. Consider having a spare doll nearby to use as a model for the painting.
Allow the paint to dry completely; this can take up to two hours. If necessary, apply a second coat of paint to achieve the thickness or color your want. Remember, the more coats of paint you apply, the darker the color will be. Allow all coats of paint to dry completely before continuing.
Apply a coat of your chosen sealant over the paint with a clean paintbrush. The sealant will prevent the acrylic paint from peeling or fading.
Allow all paint and sealant to dry completely before returning the doll to storage or play.
