Instructions
Download and print an animal bath mitt pattern.
Place the pattern on the washcloth so that the bottom edge of the puppet is flush with the finished edge of the washcloth.
Pin the body pattern to the washcloth; cut along the lines. Repeat this process on the second washcloth.
Draw eyes on the animal using a fabric marker.
Use the pattern to cut either a nose or bill out of scrap fabric; place it on the appropriate area of the animal's face. Thread a needle with thread that matches your fabric. Secure the nose or bill to the face using a whipstitch.
Use the pattern to cut the front and back of two ears from scraps of washcloth fabric. Use a pink fabric scrap to cut inner ears if desired. Pin the ears and line up the fabric so the top and bottom piece are directly over each other.
Thread the needle of the sewing machine with thread that matches the washcloth. Adjust your sewing machine to the zigzag setting. Use a zigzag stitch to sew the pink inner ear to the outer ear (if you are using an inner ear), and sew around the edges of the entire ear.
Line up the front piece of the puppet and the back piece so that the front sides are facing out. Position the ears on the sides of the head between the two layers. Pin the sides and the ears together securely.
Use a zigzag stitch; start on the bottom of one side and carefully sew up to the top and down around to the other side. Leave the bottom edge open.
