Making a toy boat at home is a great activity for older and young children. Preschoolers will need the help of an adult, but will enjoy the building process and floating the boat in a pond or bathtub. This sailboat construction is a perfect summer beach activity, as the boat is made from driftwood. A search for the perfect driftwood boat pieces can be a fun process in itself and the finished boat will be a memento of a beach-side adventure.
