Choose the dates and the locations for which you will need the bike trailer. Determine what your needs for the bikes are since bike racks and trailers come in many different shapes and sizes. For example, if you are moving your bikes across the country, you may consider renting a larger trailer and extra securing systems so your bikes don't move around on the long road.
Research rental prices, especially local outdoor stores and rental centers. These may have your best deals for local transportation of bikes. Consider using national rental companies if you moving your bike across a number of states on a one way trip. There are many private shipping companies in America that specialize in renting trailers or racks for motorbikes or bicycles.
Verify the details of the rental contract before reserving the bike trailer. Make sure you are aware of mileage fees, damage fees and insurance fees before you pay to make your reservation. The more expensive bike trailer rentals have more fees and payment schedules than cheaper rentals.
At time of pick-up, you may need to sign a rental contract in which you verify that the bike trailer is in good condition and you will pay certain fees for damage or for a late return. You may need to provide a copy of a major credit card or driver's license as a security measure depending on how expensive and luxurious your selected bike trailer is.
