How to Take Rust Off a Bike

Rust is counterproductive to the appearance and longevity of bicycles. If your bike is rusted through the metal, it's quite possibly not removable. If the rust is surface flake rust on the chrome, then the rust is too far gone to remove effectively. However, if the rust hasn't reached the level of flaking or damaging the metal but is merely surface rust, it can be removed fairly easily. Removing the rust is the proper solution. Painting over it will simply disguise the issue and cause more problems later on.
