How to Put Cards in Bicycle Spokes

Attaching playing cards to bicycle spokes is a great way to turn a regular bike into a sound machine. It's an easy trick to show your child and a fun tradition to pass on to the next generation. Part of the fun is replacing and rearranging the cards on the bike.

      Find a set of playing cards that you don't mind ruining. Get some tape or ordinary clothes pins.

      Tape the card to the back frame of the bike, ensuring that enough of the card sticks out to slap on the spokes as they go by. Alternatively, clothespin the card to the spokes of the bike so that it slaps the frame as it goes by.

      Ride the bike and enjoy. The faster you go, the louder it sounds. Eventually the cards will wear out and need to be replaced. Experiment with more cards to get an even louder sound.
