How do I Replace the Front Wheel on a Green Machine?

The green machine was designed and released in the 70s and still delights children with the ability to send the bike into a 180, 360 and even 540 degree spin! The green machine has handles that operate the rear wheels and a front wheel brake. A damaged front wheel will render the green machine useless. Replacing the front wheel can be accomplished quickly and easily.

Contact the customer service department to order a replacement front wheel for the Green Machine. Be prepared to provide the model number or the size of the front wheel. Older versions of the Green Machine have a 16" wheel, while newer versions have a 20" wheel. Call 1-800-872-2453 between the hours of 8 and 4:30pm Eastern Standard Time. The best time to call is between 8am and 10am Eastern Standard Time.

Use a wrench, and remove the nut holding the bolt that runs through the center of the wheel. Remove the plastic housing covering the wheel with a Phillips screwdriver. If you have an older model, you will need to remove the nut. Remove the bolt, and gently lift out the wheel.

Slide the new wheel into place, insert the bolt through the opening, and re-attach the nut. Securely tighten the nut. If you have the older Green Machine model, replace the plastic housing by inserting the screw and tightening with a Phillips screwdriver.
