How to Transform Jetfire From Robot to Jet

Jetfire is a "Transformers" character who has had at least two incarnations. The most recent was as the aged robot that changed into an SR-71 Blackbird as portrayed in the movie "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." The earliest incarnation was as a high-tech transforming jet fighter. The toy of this first-generation, or G1, version of Jetfire was a big seller in the 1980s because its mold was identical to the VF-1 Veritech portrayed in the anime television series "Robotech." Thus, its change sequence from robot to jet is the same.

Instructions

    • 1

Unfold the robot's wings. Lift the tail section and open the rear hatch between the shoulders.

    • 2

Lift up the entire rear torso until it is in a straight line with the front torso. Fold the guns on the robot's head and push the head back until it folds into place underneath the cockpit.

    • 3

Slide the chest piece back to lock the rear torso into place. Close the hatch and unfold the tail section. Lift up the two tail rudders.

    • 4

Slide the tabs on the arms toward the elbows, retracting the hands. Straighten the arms and fold them under the fuselage. Make sure the wrist sections are pointing toward the rear of the fuselage and the arms are lined up side by side.

    • 5

Swivel the legs backward on the large hinge so the click into place under the fuselage, becoming the jet engines. Close the feet halves, forming the engine exhausts. Unfold the landing gear, if desired.
