Things You'll Need
Instructions
Draw the outline of the intended shape of the doll on the back of a piece of fabric. This will form the body and outfit for the doll so choose the color fabric you want to dress the doll.
Cut out the body shape. Trace this shape onto another piece of the fabric and cut it out. This will form the back of the doll.
Pin the seams of the fabric body together and roll the batting into an oval shape. Batting is a form of fabric used for stuffing and can often be found in pillows. It looks similar to pulled cotton. Tie a section off in the shape of a ball with the excess hanging loose. This will form the head and neck.
Stuff the neck portion of the batting into the top of the body fabric. Stuff the rest of the body with more batting until it is plump. Sew all the seams to secure the batting inside the doll.
Cut a pyramid piece of colored fabric to form a cape and sew it to the back of the neck. If desired, cut the first letter of the receiver's name out of fabric and sew it to the middle of the cape or chest of the doll. Cut and glue the yarn to the doll head as hair. Draw the face on with marker.
