Early 90s Marvel Toys

Marvel Toys is known for their comic book action figures, featuring more than 5,000 separate characters. In the early 1990s, the company focused on the Spider-man, X-Force and X-Men collections to coincide with new comic book series and movies based on the characters.
  1. Captain America Action Figure

    • Captain America was first released in 1990 as part of Marvel Superheroes Series 1, then re-released in 1991. The figure includes a working launcher and hand shield.

    Dr. Octopus Action Figure

    • The figure of Spider-man's adversary was first released in 1990, and then re-issued in 1991 as part of Marvel Superheroes Series 1 and 2. The toy comes with suction cups attached to the tentacles, allowing for real action wall climbing.

    Silver Surfer Action Figure

    • Released in 1991 in Marvel Superheroes Series 1, the Silver Surfer action figure was modified from its original release in color, becoming monochromatic. A silver surf board is included.

    Magneto Action Figure

    • Released in 1991, Magneto is part of the first X-Men series. Features of this villain include magnetic pieces that will stick to his vest, a cloth cape and a removable helmet.

    War Machine

    • Created for the Marvel Hall of Fame Series 5 collection, the War Machine figure was initially released in 1991. Differing from previous forms, this early-90s version includes removable armor and a helmet.

    Cannonball

    • This X-Force figure is the only representation of Cannonball as of 2009. Put on the market in 1993, the toy was available in two colors, purple or pink, and included a launching action arm and launchpad that doubles as a backpack.
