Instructions

    • 1

Size it. Decide how long and wide the hammock should be to accommodate dolls or toy figures.Add 5 inches to the length and 1 inch to the width. Cut a piece of colored construction paper according to your measurements.

    • 2

Fold it. Accordion fold the entire cut piece lengthwise.

    • 3

Cut it. Cut triangular notches out of both sides of the folded paper in an alternating pattern.

    • 4

Shape it. Unfold the sheet of lattice and cut off each corner at an angle.

    • 5

String it. Cut two pieces of string, embroidery floss or yarn about 7 inches longer than your hammock.

    • 6

Tape it. Stick three strips of tape under both sides of the hammock to follow the angles you cut. Leave half of the tape strips available for folding over. Lay the string along the outer edge of the hammock with some excess at both ends. Fold the tape over to secure the string from both sides. Tape the long middle sections first, then secure the angled ends.

    • 7

Tie it. Tie or tape the string ends to objects that are heavy enough to bear the weight of the toys. After you make a toy hammock, stretch out your favorite doll or action figure and give it a swing.
