Instructions

Give your pirate a collection of gold jewelry. Paint 1 lb. of ring-shaped or tubular dried pastas using gold spray paint. Allow the paint to dry. String the pastas on five to 10 18-inch strands of yarn. Tie the ends of each of the yarn strands together to form a necklace.

Design an eye patch for the pirate. Cut a 3-inch equilateral triangle from a sheet of black felt. Round off the corners of the triangle using the scissors. Cut an 18-inch piece of thin black hat elastic. Position the black felt with one long side turned horizontally across the top. Punch a hole in each of the corners of the top side of the felt triangle. String the hat elastic through one of the holes and tie the end to itself around the corner of the eye patch in a knot. Place the eye patch on a child's face. Stretch the remaining end of the cord around her head and insert it through the hole in the other side. Loop the end around the eye patch and tie it to itself in a knot.

Supply your pirate with a telescope. Paint a paper towel tube with black spray paint. Cut a round hole with a 1/2 inch diameter in the center of a 4-inch square of aluminum foil. Place the square of foil over one end of cardboard tube so the hole is in the center. Attach the foil along the sides of the tube using white glue to complete the pirate̵7;s telescope.

Fill your pirate̵7;s pockets with silver coins. Cut 12 2-inch circles from an empty cardboard cereal box. Cut 12 3-inch squares of aluminum foil. Cover one side of the cardboard circles with white glue. Place the circles glue-side down in the center of each foil square. Wrap the edges of the foil around the backside of the cardboard circles. Use a fine-tipped black permanent marker to draw skull-and-crossbones on one side of each of the coins to finish the pirate money.
